Christian
Huygen has served as director of Rainbow
Heights Club, an advocacy and socialization program for lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender people living with mental illness, since 2002. He
received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The New School for Social Research.
Past and present research interests include collective remembering and social categorization; autobiographical memory in changing social contexts; and the effectiveness of culturally specific psychosocial and support services to marginalized psychiatric populations.
Clinical interests include psychosocial, solution-focused and constructionist approaches to psychotherapy; peer-based services and consumers as providers; trauma and dissociation; and the particular needs and issues of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients.
